Gun fair today
« on: July 03, 2022, 08:24:59 pm »
Went to the gun fair in auckland today and it was a good one. Quite a few people there and it looked like there were a few sales being made. My wife and I resisted although it was close, she had her eye on a sbs coach gun and I was seriously thinking about a 308 mohawk until we put a bore scope up it, but on the way home remembered I had a barrel that would probably go on it. Oh well bought 2 scopes on line the previous day so cant have everything. Good to see there were a lot of enfields/longbranch etc at some pretty good prices. Still a little bit of c cat stuff there as well. Wife wants to go to the blade fair in a couple of months as she wants a nice hunting knife..

mmmmmmmmm. Coach gun.
#metoo.

There's a fulla out east auckland, was on nzhs forum, trying to get a bizo going making knives. I got one of his early demo ones.
Had to modify it quite a bit to fit my hand well, but it's sharp as all get-out, so his work on steel heat-treat and grinding is right-on. I'm sure he'd custom anything you like.
Otherwise any boring old shop humping-fisting, engineering, or farm supply will have svörds (nz made too) and other quite acceptable knives.

Pretty sure it was the guy from colfo selling the coach guns. He had 3 on his rack of various rifles and shot guns he was selling. Wifes just using a bacho at the moment but feels like something a bit nicer now she's used one.
