Well it seems a natural progression from nv is get a thermal. I was curious about them so bit the bullet and bought a budget unit. I didn't want to spend big bucks as realistically it wont get used much and I just want a little taste at this stage of what it is all about. The unit I got was a hikmicro lynx s lc06s thermal spotter, Its the bottom of the range but I was able to try it in the shop and it seemed ok. We took it out that night on a possum shoot. So far it has worked well picking up possums we would of normally walked past. We need to have a bit more of a play with it and muck around with the settings but so far it looks like its going to do the job without a heap of fancy stuff we dont need and wont break the bank.
