Title: antenna
Post by: Hobby hunter on May 12, 2022, 07:51:35 pm
Got a few little projects on at the moment. I've been asking around and doing a bit of reading on cb antennas. I've finally got around to starting to make one. Its a 1/4 wave 477mhz one for one of my uhf radios I'm setting up as a base unit in my garage. Its a copy of the ultra light one on yt except I'm using coat hanger wire for the element and ground plain things that stick out. Its pretty small so it will be interesting to see how it goes..

So I made this today and it actually works. Well receives anyway, only had a patch cable to hook it up with so it was surprising that it was receiving transmissions from inside a tin shed didn't try transmitting as I had radio on scan listening to it while I was doing something else. Will try transmitting with it tomorrow
