Got a tikka in x55. Nice rifle to. Action would be over kill for the tiny grendel.

As far as factory ammo goes in the hornet I haven't really found a brand that shoots very well. The Hornady match stuff I have is about the best in my rifles but no where near the accuracy of the hand loads.

I just got hold of some pills made from 22lr cases to see how they go. They look well made I think they are around 62gr and have a conical base which I've never seen before. Once this weather clears ill head out to the farm for a test and report back..

Most people have found that overtightening the howa mini cracks the bottom plastic. I'm lead to believe the correct torque is 30 inch pounds. This is a very easy and effective way of fixing this problem. All you do is drill out the plastic to accept some steel tube that the bolts fit through nicely and jb weld it into the bottom plastic basically making a mini pillar. Its a little bit fiddly but works well.

ran the annealed grendel brass through the fl die today pressure required to do the operation was very consistent. Next thing to do is run the annealed 25 06 brass through the 6.5 06 fl die.

Was at it again today, sorted through a lot of my brass did a batch of grendel brass and a couple of batches of 25 06. also bought some greek 303 back to life. After it had been fired I tried reloading it but the necks wouldn't size back down they would spring back to I guess the chamber dimensions so had nothing to loose buy running it through the annealer and tried resizing it most of it resized fine so that was a bonus..

In the lower price bracket I tend to go for the nikko stirlings never had a problem with one so far. We also have the lower end bushnels and Ive got a couple of early japanese tascos. Further up Ive got a sightron on my comp 22 rimfire and thats i nice scope as well. Also got a couple of simmons as well. Dont forget decent mounts and try and mount it as low as whats comfortable to reduce canting errors. I sight mine in for 50m. That seems to handle the rimfire distances I shoot at.
