Today we spent the morning at the Waitangi treaty grounds, they have done it up since we were last there and the displays are pretty well thought out. The one I was most interested in was the building dedicated to the Maori battalion as Im interested in military type things. We were also there at rhe right time to see a cultural performance as well. Then it was off on the ferry to Russel for the afternoon for a look around. Never seems to change much that place which I guess is a good thing...

How i use brass bore brushes is get one thats the correct caliber and i just run it up and back down the bore once and dry. Dont change directions while the brush is in the bore. I find it scratches the surface of the copper or carbon in the bore which helps the solvent work into it. After the brush run a wet patch of your solvent up the bore and let soak, then clean as you normally would.

Finally got this project finished bar the leather sling. Had it at the range today for final sight in. As per the other thread it shot incredibly well. the retro redfield scope looks good and is nice and clear and has the simple duplex reticle. Now I need another project.

I finally finished load development for my browning A bolt micro hunter 22h at the range today. I've settled on a load using federal sr primers, 12.5gn lil gun and a 45gn speer fb projectile. Seating depth is very unscientific as all I do is make a dummy round that I keep to set the die up all I do is start a projectile in an unprimed necksized case the put it in the rifle and chamber it and close the bolt, then I get the round put it in my press with the seating stem wound out on the die and raise the round into the die. Then screw down the seating stem so it contacts the projectile lower the round out of the die and screw seating stem down half a turn and reseat bullet to that length and that's it, and now you have a round for setting your die to in future.  I was totally surprised by the groups, a 3 shot group looked like 1 30cal hole in the target. Best shooting hornet I own now.

Had it out possum shooting tonight. It takes a bit of getting used to as its like shooting using a camera which is what it is. It seemed to go well but ive never used anything like this before to compare it to. You need to give it time to focus and it gets a bit grainy on distant objects.

Tried this thing out today and with the limited budget ammo I had this thing shot really well. Im sure if you had the time and a good seletction of different ammo this would be up there as far as being able to do well in club level target shooting. You just wouldnt win any beauty contests with it thats all. Now to wait till its possum time and clip the night vision onto it and see how that goes
