Don't remember what year I pegged microchips...it was some time after blade runner though .
The us govt gave it a nudge after 2001 "to stop the terrorists" but it didn't catch on. Coming though. Sweden or scandanavia, I think, more than 10% of people are voluntarily (!!!) chipped.
